Learning in the Womb
Seeing in the Womb
Now what can you see in the womb?
It’s pretty dark there but when your baby has developed his
seeing components by the end of first trimester, he can
actually visualize the structures inside and also what you show
from outside! Amazing but true!
In fact you can show flash cards to your child in the womb
itself for right brain development.
The eyelids start opening at around 20 weeks gestation and
the child can perceive light from outside.
There is also evidence to show that your baby will also
react to what you are seeing and beautiful calm images elicit a
different response from him. It has been shown that even
different colors exposure can elicit different response from
him.
TIPS
- Upon getting up in the morning see
whatever is around you. So try to make your
room pleasant and keep posters of smiling
children around you. Gaze out into the
outside world and see the sun rising if you
are in time.
- Take a walk outside in the gardens and
look lovingly at the flowers and different
colours in the world.
- At night, gaze at the sky. Look at the
shining stars, the lovely moon and feel the
difference in you.
- In fact, studies have shown that, even
a newborn prefers to see a face than any
shape and he also prefers to see his
mothers face than any other face. Isn’t it
amazing that he already knows your
face?
